Introduction Tennis has been played at Birkenhead Lawn Tennis Club (BLTC) since 26th January 1892, originally originally called Shrewsbury Lawn Tennis Club and becoming BLTC in 1960. The club has six hard courts, three of which are flood-lit, and clubhouse with bar, kitchen and function area. If you are interested in joining as Senior, Junior or Family members, please come down to the club or get in touch. All club members are required to be a member of British Tennis, membership is free for club members. In order to join, logon to British Tennis website.

Senior Tennis News Calling all members: social tennis continues on a Tuesday evening 6pm til late, come down play and have a drink after. Winter League Tennis: if you are keen to play in the Winter Leagues, Sunday mornings from 10 am. Let Richard Chiverrell, Diane Duffey or Patrick Waddington know a.s.a.p. Wirral Tennis League - April to July BLTC Annual Tournament Further info: Starts in June each year, with Handicap and Open competitions taking place, both available to all members. For the 'Handicap' all players are graded according to standard and receive points bonus or penalties to even up the competition. |
Tennis for Juniors Junior sessions take place on Monday evenings from 5.30-6.00 onwards and continue through to 7.30 and later: 6.30-7.30 pm for under 10s and 7.30-8.30pm under 16s £4 per session (2 coaches present each week).
