BLTC participate in four events, The Wirral Tennis League (see below), the Cheshire Shield Open Competition, the Wirral Tankard, and in the winter months the West Cheshire Leagues.

Summer 2010 was an excellent season for BLTC in the Wirral Tennis League, with the 1st team retaining their position in the top division. The 2nds won the fourth division reversing last seasons relegation. The 3rds missed out on winning the sixth division by a single set and were promote back to division five. The 4ths produced a strong season to finish middle table in division 5.  The challenge all teams is to do better? Can Birkenhead 2, 3 and 4 challenge for promotion? We again are keen to recruit ladies to strengthen the team play, so if you once played and gave it up or have never played and want to start please come down to BLTC!

Social play

The club house is regularly open for (semi-)organised social tennis Tuesday evenings (except during the summer league). All members are welcome to attend and play tennis on Tuesdays from 6-6.30pm. A group of us will be there, come down and play. All abilities welcome and the more the merrier.

Thursday Friendly Team: BLTC runs a friendly team that plays home and away fixtures on Thursday evenings in a mixed (ladies and gentlemen) format comprising two pairs of ladies and men doubles matches followed by four pairs of mixed doubles. The season runs from April to August.

The courts are available for members to use, with the exceptions of Junior evening (Mondays) and on match sessions. During term time and during the day, the school has access to the courts, but two courts are always available to members. School hours are:- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday 9am-5pm; Wednesday 9am-7pm; Saturday 9-1pm.

Wirral Tennis League, we have four teams that participate, playing a mixed doubles (ladies and gentlemen) format comprising two pairs of ladies and men doubles matches followed by four pairs of mixed doubles. Each team comprises eight players who play two best of the three sets matches. The season runs from April to July, with seven home and seven away games forming the season.

Cheshire Shield, are a series of knockout competitions: men's and ladies, Open and Veterans.

Wirral Tankard competition is a mixture of singles and doubles play, with 2 men's and ladies singles, plus men's, ladies and mixed doubles matches, with ten players making the team.

West Cheshire Winter League, we have three men's teams and a ladies team that play Sunday mornings from 10 am. Each team consists of 2 doubles pairs playing two matches.
