
Introduction Tennis has been played at Birkenhead Lawn Tennis Club (BLTC) since 26th January 1892, originally originally called Shrewsbury Lawn Tennis Club and becoming BLTC in 1960. The club has six hard courts, three of which are flood-lit, and clubhouse with bar, kitchen and function area. Tennis For Free Charity
has joined a strategic partnership between Wirral Council, Cheshire LTA, the
Malcolm Elgin Trust and Birkenhead LTC to help provide
free tennis coaching for all players of all ages at Birkenhead Park every Sunday
2-4pm for the next two years (from 16th May 2010). Birkenhead LTC Club Coach Les
Wellens will be on hand to teach budding tennis players and manage the Sunday
afternoon's at Birkenhead Park. Directions click here.

Junior Membership News Click here. Junior sessions take place on Monday evenings from 5.30-6.00 and continue through to 7.30 and later: 6.30-7.30 pm for under 10s and 7.30-8.30pm under 16s £4 per session (2 coaches present each week). We would welcome help from parents in organising Monday nights, junior teams and tournaments.

BLTC is best approached from Shrewsbury Road (Oxton), turn north down Beresford Road and then left at the cross-roads into Alton Way, then left onto Devonshire Place and finally left onto Sandy Way.
