Chairman's News

Firstly congratulations to all the BLTC teams on there efforts dispite a difficult year, and thanks to all the people involved in playing tennis, organisation of the teams (particularly Margaret D) and the catering during the 2009 season.

Now the summer season is approaching , we remind all members that you can and we do play all winter - so please come down to the club on the Tuesday and play under lights. Also ask about the Sunday morning team competitions. Please be aware that there is a need for some fairly urgent maintenance around the club, perhaps most importantly the court surfaces which are in need of attention before too long. These issues are being pursued with the Trust. The fencing surrounding some of the courts is scheduled for replacement to bring it up to the standard of the other courts. These are the principal plans for the coming months so watch this space and hopefully the courts and surroundings

A perennial plea and reminder - the club relies very heavily on a few members who put in a great deal of work around other commitments. On behalf of the Club they are thanked for these efforts and all members are encouraged to ask and get more involved in the club administration at any level. Particular it would help to greatly increase the pool of regulars playing during the social tennis evenings and to share the workload of opening/closing of the club, the bar and clubhouse on these evenings, alongside enjoying playing tennis throughout the year.

How to find us?

BLTC is best approached from Shrewsbury Road (Oxton), turn north down Beresford Road and then left at the cross-roads into Alton Way, then left onto Devonshire Place and finally left onto Sandy Way. The car park and clubhouse are at the end of Sandy Way.
